FINAL REVISED NSHL SCHEDULE IN PLACE FOR FINISH OF SEASON.
After a number of date and venue adjustments , the final outline for all games for the east and central 'sections' of the League is now in place. There will be a heighened pitch to the movement to the finish line with all east teams picking up their pace against each other, as well, as two big 'off the Avalon' games by the Bous and Blues vs. the Flyers and Cataracts in two tilts at a time in each of Gander and GFW set for next weekend: Blues in Gander and the Bous in GFW on Sat.night Feb.2nd, and, the Bous in Gander and Blues in GFW on Sun.afternoon Feb.3rd. 'EAST' TEAMS PLAY IN CENTRAL THIS COMING WEEKEND!
After a pretty full weekend of hockey both on the east coast and in central, the first,(and only), interlocking games for the Season by east teams out "in" central, are on in Gander and Grand Falls-Windsor for games on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. The Breakers arE in Gander Saturday,with the Eagles in GFW the same night. Then, on Sunday afternoon, the Eagles play in Gander and Breakers are in GFW. TECHNICAL ERROR AT TEAM SITE PUTS CARIBOUS 'OFF LINE': BOUS NOW 'ALIVE ' AGAIN...
The Caribous are 'alive' again, at least as far as the NSHL website world is concerned. The Bous had a technical internet error resolved just in time to make sure their weekend games on Saturday and Sunday can be recorded for posterity on the League and Team websites' Statistics and Standings categories... All teams in the NSHL, except the Breakers, will be in action starting Saturday night with the Blues kicking off the 2nd half at Home vs. the Caps, and the Caribous at Home vs. the Northeast Eagles, and GFW Cataracts hosting the Gander Flyers. BLUES START NEW YEAR WITH TWO GAMES AT HOME
A full schedule of games in the NSHL will mark the opening of the League's New Year and 2nd Half... The Blues play the Breakers at CBS Arena on Friday night,Jan.4th,8:00 pm, and play at Home again on Saturday night at 7:00pm vs. the Caps. On Saturday night, (7:30 pm), the Northeast Eagles will visit Clarenville for the first of a two game set vs. the Bous. The Gander Flyers visit GFW to open the 2nd Half for the 'central' teams with a tilt against the Cataracts at the Joe Byrne Memorial Stadium, game time at 7:30pm. [Full Story]

BLUES AND EAGLES SPLIT WEEKEND SERIES
The East Division,first place CB Blues came back at Home on Saturday night to score a convincing 6-2 win over visiting NE Eagles,following the Eagles surprising 5-3 win over the Blues at Jack Byrne Arena on Friday night... NSHL TAKES XMAS BREAK AFTER THIS WEEK
Well, it looks like the new provincial con-figuration for Senior hockey in the 'east' and 'central' will make it to the halfway point of the 2018-2019 Season. The Eagles and Blues are scheduled to close out final first half games in a "Home and Home" series at week's end. SCHEDULE ADJUSTMENTS. There were various, unplanned schedule changes in the new 7 team set-up since Opening Weekend in late October...several changes had to be made 'on the fly' with cancellations , with a couple of games simply having date changes made. Cataracts Defeat Eagles
In senior hockey action Friday night the Cataracts defeated the Eagles by a score of 8-2. For the Cataracts Brandon Bussey netted 3 goals, Rodi Shord had 2 while they added singles from Michael Hynes, Kyle McGuirk and Mike Cole. The Eagles has singles from both Shayne McGrath and Tyler Bennett. In more senior hockey action this weekend, the Gander Flyers are in town to take to the ice against the Southern Shore Breakers Saturday night (game time 7:30pm) and the Clarenville Caribou’s Sunday afternoon (game time 2:00 pm). MID-SEASON DRAFT BEING HELD IN THE CENTRAL DIVISION OF NSHL THIS WEEKEND!
Applications for the Mid-Season Draft for any player interested in playing for either of the Gander and Grand Falls-Windsor teams of the NSHL's 'central division',for the balance of the 2018-2019 Season, must be filed by players,(not already carded and playing hockey in NL),by midnight this Sunday,Dec.16th... The Official Application Form required to be filed can be found at centralwesthockey.ca,the final date for filing now being just over two(2) days away!
